When should I visit Perth
In addition to Kings Park, the Swan River is an absolute natural highlight right next to the city of Perth and is one of my favorite Perth sights. It arises in the Walyunga National Park, which is located 50 kilometers northeast of Perth, and flows into the Indian Ocean at Fremantle. The Swan River is almost 70 kilometers long. Here you can go on boat tours, windsurfing, sailing or canoeing. Around the inner area of the Swan River there is a paved footpath and bicycle path that invites you to take a 2.5 hour walk around the Swan River. The Swan River owes its name to its appearance (in German: Schwanen River). If you look at the central area of the Swan River from the air, you will see a big swan!
A great photo spot, by the way, is the Blue Boat House (Crawley Edge Boatshed), which was built in the 1930s.
Tip: If you decide to explore the Swan River by boat or ON the water, it is better to use the morning or evening hours. From lunchtime on, the so-called "Fremantle Doctor" comes, a strong wind that makes the water very rough. By the way, I speak from experience 😉
